Didsbury Blues are happy to have contricuted to the crowd-funding for the making of a film about The Corinthians.

The Corinthians Ladies Football Club played a vital role in women’s football history. The first UK women’s team to tour South America (in the 1960s!), and a team who won a cup in Europe before Manchester United or City!

Yet, for decades they were banned, ignored, sidelined by the system.

Today, many players have sadly died without ever having the chance to tell their amazing story. And they have never had the public recognition they truly deserve.

Wow!!!!!!! I just got your message through via our Films Not Words website.
I wanted to write back to you asap – apologies if it’s late! But we are just absolutely blown away by this generosity. Thank you so much!!
I will let the Corinthians in our film know first thing in the morning – I know they will be absolutely thrilled. Their time playing in Didsbury still holds the fondest memories of their lives. So to receive such generous backing from football fans in the heart of that community will mean such a lot to them. One out of ladies has actually been a City season ticket holder for 68 years so she will be especially pleased! :)
I’m sure we will be in Didsbury in connection with the film when it is finished as well so we will have to keep in touch.
Thanks again for planning this donation. I’ve just been amazed by the generosity of people throughout this campaign – and the sheer love and admiration Mancunians have for this team!
For you to raise this with your supporters club and make the effort to plan this is absolutely phenomenal!
With only about 11 days to go till our crowdfund ends, this means an awful lot!
Thanks for getting in touch to let us know Don. We will keep our eyes peeled for it – and be sure to shout about your fab contribution!
And thank you on behalf of all the Corinthians in our film – and all those who played over the years who we want to pay tribute to.
Thanks again!
